Hinduism attracting Westerners! Why?

Especially Germans and Russians are showing a lot of interest in Sanatana Dharma. There are many reasons why these people are accepting the most colourful and ancient religion. Some of them are as follows:

Yoga, meditation and Ayurveda : Westerners have realised the importance of yog and meditation better than we Indians. They know the impact of yog and meditation on body and mind. Ofcourse practicing yog will lead to a healthier and happier life . Ayurveda on other hand is natural way of healing diseases that only uses substance naturally occurring in nature. From medicinal plants to Gow mutra , Ayurveda is highly effective in relieving one from diseases without any side effects which are common in allopathy.

There's science in Hinduism: Human body consists of chakras that can be activated by following right methods of meditation and yoga. Every ritual has got some scientific reason associated with it. 

Our scriptures: Many scientists have shown immense interest in our scriptures. The vimana Shastra by Bharadwaj Rishi was written ages ago before wright brothers invented the first aeroplane. Western scientists learnt Sanskrit in order to decode the age old information about sciences like surgical, medicinal, aerospace,nuclear and atomic , mathematics, armoury,etc. One such examples is father of atomic sciences, J. Robert Oppenheimer. He was highly fascinated by the information about nuclear sciences in Srimad bhagwath geeta and other scriptures

Peaceful religion - Hinduism: This is biggest reason why Westerners choose sanatana Dharma: A way of life . It doesn't propagate hatred towards anyone . It just spreads peace and happiness in this universe . That is what our scriptures teach us.

“ Sarvaloka Jana sukhino bhavanthu”( May all the living beings in this world be happy) This is a prayer that is chanted in almost all the temples of Hinduism,everyday . This is just one , there are many such prayers .

Flexible nature of Hinduism: Hinduism is highly flexible. Even a atheist can be a Hindu. If u believe in that almighty, oh! Thats great. Also if u dont? No problem, That God won't burn u in Hell's fire . Just be nice to other living beings , help them and we will still see you in heaven( Even if u dont worship God ,haha).

Swami Vivekananda states "As certain religions of the world say that a man who does not believe in a Personal God outside of himself is an atheist, so the Vedanta says, a man who does not believe in himself is an atheist. Not believing in the glory of our own soul is what the Vedanta calls atheism."

Colourful religion: Festivals in Hinduism are a big deal. From Jagannath yatra to Diwali , from holi to Sankranti . Every festival is a moment that is to be relished with colours and different/ interesting way to celebrate them.

Lots of variety to choose from: Okay! You want a way/image to meditate and concentrate on that omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent being? Haha , you are in the right place. You can choose any one as per your wish. We have Sri Vishnu(the sustainer) and his manifestations, Sri Ganapati(auspicious one)- the elephant lord, Adi Shakti (Mother nature) and her forms, Adi purush ( the destroyer of evil) ,etc. You will surely develop a personal relation with any one of them . For me it was Ganapati ,haha.

Religious organizations: ISKCON has a lion's share in influencing the Westerners and making them a part of the most colourful community in the universe. ISKCON lays more emphasis on worship of Sri Krishna and reading the bhagwath geeta. There is also the Isha foundation led by Sadhguru Jaggi and Mata Amrita anandmayi who are teaching the world about the science in Hinduism.
