Traditions Of Hinduism:
In the Vedic age, the worship of Trinity wasn't much in vogue. People , at that time used to give more importance to the natural elements i.e., Panchabhoot which consists of five natural elements namely Vayu(Air), Agni(Fire), Varun(Water) , Bhoomi(Earth) and Aakash(Sky). But, with various Puranas coming into existence over time, the idea of praying to Trinity became more popular. Puranas like Shiv Puran, Vishnu Puran, Devi Mahatyam( Durga Saptashati) , etc., introduced us to the present major deities.
Let us now, learn about various traditions in Hinduism .
SHAIVISM:
This tradition focusses more on Shiva, one of the Trinity. It assumes that Shiva is the most superior. It assumes that lord Shiva is the start and end of this universe. There are several folklores from various Puranas that how Lord Shiva created the other two in the Trinity and the universe.
VAISHNAV:
Followers of this tradition worship Sri Vishnu and his manifestations as their primary deity. They too regard their God as the most superior one.
SHAKTISM:
This is the most exciting among all the traditions. Here, the feminine form of the parabrahma is assumed to be the creator, sustainer and destroyer of the universe. Para Shakti and her various forms are worshipped .
GANAPATISM:
Ganesha is known as the lord of auspiciousness and remover of hurdles. He is worshipped for success and prosperity. He is considered as the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
SMARTISM:
Here, the followers do not follow a particular deity. They feel that all the deities are just same aspect of that divine almighty Lord.
